Below you can find the last section of our study of the letter of Jude. I hope you found this study useful for your spirtual and daily life.
God bless,
5.- In verse 22, Jude turns our attention to how we should respond to those around us. First, he tells us to “have mercy on those who doubt.” The word for “doubt” indicates someone who asks questions. How should your responses to a scoffer and a doubter differ?
6.- Next, Jude says we ought to save others by “snatching them out of the fire¹” (v. 23). This implies that this second group of people is in great danger. When the threat of fire is upon you, how do you respond? What should “snatching” others look like in your relationships?
7.- A final category of people includes those who have been stained by their sins. What is to be hated in this verse? Who is to be shown mercy? Why does Jude say to do this in “fear”? How should Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 18:15–17 influence this?
8.- Verses 24–25 function not as an afterword but as a climax to the whole letter. How do they do so?
9.- The first half of this doxology² (v. 24) emphasizes what God does for us, while the second half (v. 25) emphasizes who God is. How do the two interrelate?
